What are the resources?
The Medway Flood Partnership has produced a set of flood related articles that can be used or adapted for your community. We will be sending one a month for you to use to increase flood awareness in your community and encourage people to prepare.
How can you use them?
You can put them up on parish noticeboards, publish in your parish magazine or newsletter, or even post on your village Facebook page – whatever methods you feel will give the most impact within your community, and increase its resilience to flooding.
What articles are available?
There are four articles that are ready and available for you to use now and we will send you one a month as outlined below:
1. Be prepared – create a personal flood plan
2. Helping communities to become more resilient: Our simple 4 step pathway
3. Flood Warden resources: Helping you to help your community
4. The Medway Flood Partnership
A template has also been created that will allow you to create your own article explaining the flood history of your village or community. The Environment Agency is happy to help you do this by providing facts and figures that people in your community can relate to and understand. They are also happy to review your article before you publish it.
Please find below a completed example of this template for Aylesford village. If it would be useful to create one relevant to your community, please contact the Environment Agency on the email below.
