This week the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has published its Annual Review 2018, reporting on how the NCSC has been delivering on its mission to make the UK the safest place to live and do business online.

We invite you to read the Annual Review here. In it, you will find details of how the NCSC’s world-class incidents team has helped defend the UK from more than 1,100 cyber attacks in two years – a rate of more than 10 per week.

The Annual Review also reveals, for the first time, that the majority of these incidents were, we believe, perpetrated from within nation states in some way hostile to the UK.

For the NCSC, heading in the right direction means becoming a truly national centre, reflecting, and being present in, the communities we serve. We are delighted to announce that our flagship conference CYBERUK is coming to Scotland for the first time. 24-25 April 2019 in Glasgow.

Cyber security is a team effort, and many of the NCSC’s achievements in the last year would not have been possible without close cooperation with key partners and stakeholders, and so we extend our thanks to you. Continued collaboration will be vital in facing the challenges that lie ahead.
