Open Garden in support of Heart of Kent Hospice
Thatchers, Benover Road, Yalding, Kent ME18 6AS
Sunday 29th July 12.00 pm – 5.00 pm
The owners of Thatchers invite you to visit their one acre garden set around a 16th Century thatched cottage in support of Heart of Kent Hospice. In the garden you will find many ‘rooms’ and concealed pathways. Why not walk the spiral path to the Elizabethan Mount to get a panoramic view of part of the garden. The four metre rose arbour in the middle of the garden acts as a crossroads where the lawn meets the ponds and the park garden meets a Victorian greenhouse and nursery area.
The owners take an active interest in making the garden wildlife friendly and in 2016 received the Kent Wildlife Trust Silver Gilt Award and are custodians of some rare plants for the Plant Heritage Society.
Entry is by suggested donation (includes homemade teas and fresh fruit) of £5.00 per adult, Children £1.00 – pre-school free.
